NEW 2019 NOMINATION SUBMISSION FORMS NOW AVAILABLE
On behalf of the Native American Music Awards & Native American Music Association, we thank you for being an active part of our organization since we were founded 21 years ago in 1998.
We would like to take this time to thank all our members, artists and volunteer staff. Together, we have lead the way to many firsts. We were the first organization to launch a national awards show for Native american and indigenous talent. Our inaugural awards show was the first time a Native-owned casino featured an entire evening of Native talent. And, we were the first national organization to successfully propose the inclusion of Native American music in the Grammys. These are just some of our many accomplishments over the years that we achieved with you and our national membership.
Our new Nomination Submission form and Membership Applications are now available to all our members as well as are posted on our website.
This year, due to the overwhelming success of last year's new category, we are are offering ONE SINGLE SUBMISSION for a SONG or VIDEO ONLY along with our 30 plus categories for full length recordings. We are again encouraging our youth to continue to enter their songs or videos for nomination consideration.
Full membership is required in order to submit a full length recording for nomination consideration in all our categories. We encourage all participants to register as a member, as membership supports the ongoing efforts of our organization, the voting campaign and the Awards.
When submitting music for nomination consideration, please list your strongest and most appealing songs for the public to hear on our Listen & Vote website. We also encourage you to offer a free download of a song to promote to our other members as well as radio stations across the country. Before the music "business," Native songs were originally given as gifts. Songs were exchanged with others. And songs were and are revered as gifts from the Creator. We would like to encourage all members to share their gifts with each other.
